🎓 The Final Conference of the STEAMigPOWER Erasmus+ Project represented a significant milestone, marking the conclusion of three years of collaborative work dedicated to fostering inclusion, creativity, and innovation in higher education through STEAM methodologies.
Organised by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and held at the Research Dissemination Centre (KEDEA), the event took place under the theme “STEAM and Other Modern Educational Approaches for Vulnerable Groups of Students.” The conference brought together educators, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from across Europe to exchange experiences, share research findings, and discuss the role of STEAM education in addressing social and educational inequalities.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in panel discussions, academic paper presentations, and round tables, focusing on innovative and interdisciplinary practices aimed at empowering migrants, refugees, and other vulnerable groups. Presentations included insights from the STEAMigPOWER partners and from academics representing various European universities and organisations, reflecting a broad commitment to inclusive education and lifelong learning.
The event provided an opportunity to present and reflect upon the project’s main results, including the design of an Introductory and Intensive Programmes for migrants and refugees, the development of adapted online STEAM courses, and the creation of a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) supporting flexible and accessible education. The discussions highlighted how these tools can enhance participation, digital literacy, and employability, while fostering intercultural understanding and social inclusion.
The conference concluded by emphasising the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration between higher education institutions, NGOs, and civil society to ensure the sustainability of inclusive educational initiatives. Participants agreed that the integration of STEAM approaches in higher education can play a transformative role in building more equitable, innovative, and resilient learning environments.
